Curating the future through rooted experimental practices.
interlaced.tv is an online platform dedicated to expanding dialogue around analog video and experimental moving image. Both a curated exhibition and an evolving space for artistic exchange, it brings together artists and makers exploring unconventional approaches to video, animation, and moving-image practices.
The Fall edition features two distinct programs, Sonic Imagery and Musical Movement, exploring the dynamic relationships between sound, rhythm, image, and motion. Together, these programs present diverse approaches to experimental moving image, revealing how sound and music can shape visual perception, transform movement, and open up new sensory experiences.
Bringing together selected artists from Canada, Germany, South Korea, Mexico, Ukraine, and the United States, interlaced.tv fosters an international dialogue across diverse artistic contexts, perspectives, and approaches to the moving image. The platform creates connections between pioneering practitioners and emerging voices, highlighting the vitality and continued evolution of experimental video.
Embracing resistance, imperfection, and materiality, interlaced.tv foregrounds works that explore the medium’s inherent unpredictability. Through analog processes, technical interventions, and the interplay between organic and technological systems, these artists transform error, chance, and instability into generative forces.
Rooted in experimental traditions yet oriented toward future possibilities, interlaced.tv celebrates video as a living, transformative, and continually evolving artistic form. By bringing together distinct practices across geographical and cultural boundaries, the platform cultivates new encounters and opens space for alternative ways of seeing, hearing, and experiencing moving images.
